Maine Reef Progress Report

July brought lots of reef activity to Maine! Not only have we received some nice work which I posted on earlier and some workshops at the Gorham library, but it also brought some fiber folks together to work on the overall reef design and foundation  pieces that will hold the many contributions that people have sent us.

So Exciting!

I thought you might enjoy getting a sneak - peek so am posting a few pics of our activities during our workdays. I don't want to reveal too much of the design because I want you all to be  surprised as well as amazed when you come to see the exhibit during fair week September 30th - October 7th.

Julie Yarborough and Karen Cornell are measuring for the "base rock" pieces.

Base Rock taking shape

Pat Burkard, Ann Thompson and Jane Sumner hard at work!
Jane, where are you?

Nuno Felted Kelp you say?
It's not dyed yet.....
Good Job Janet Conner and Linda Whiting!

It was great to see, visit and work with these ladies outside of fair season when we barely have time to smile at one another and say hello.

Our weekend at The Fiber Center was very successful!
